I'm a total Bohemian when it comes to talking technicalities in music. I know I like shit that's different, where the musician actually needs to try and do something new. These guys try. They even share some bits in common with progressive metal.

lyrics
Am I working up your appetite? You're not used to working so hard for what you want. And i'm not afraid to tell you that I won't abide by your rules to smoke it out, sweat it out, shake it off, and go without.
Because i'm getting used to not having you around. Once i'd commit like the pull of a trigger, be by your side at the click of your finger, but i'm older now.
(I am older now).
You're in a cold sweat, i'm stone-cold sober. You're just cold inside, and this is over.
You're in a cold sweat, i'm stone-cold sober. You need a place to hide, a four-leaf clover.
You've got this chip on your shoulder (forget it, forget it) the weight of your world.
Don't let it take over, and call me when you get home.
This isn't for my benefit, there is a personal space grinding me down. And our eyes are running red raw from the things we said, even through walls, we built them all, a get-out clause, sleeping on floors.
I don't, I don't like it, how you speak to me in the dark. I don't, I don't, want it, living quite callus, living it large.
You're in a cold sweat, i'm stone-cold sober. You're just cold inside, and this is over.
You're in a cold sweat, i'm stone-cold sober. You need a place to hide, a four-leaf clover.
You've got this chip on your shoulder (forget it, forget it), the weight of your world.
Don't let it take over, and call me when you get home.
You've got this chip on your shoulder (forget it, forget it), the weight of your world.
Don't let it take over, and call me when you get home.
You've been talking in your sleep (badabadaba)
Paper trails amongst the trees (badabadaba)
But let's, forget it, forget it, badabadaba.
Forget it, forget it, badabadaba
Forget it, forget it, badabadaba
Forget it, forget it, badabadaba
You've got this chip on your shoulder (forget it, forget it), the weight of your world.
Don't let it take over, and call me when you get home, home.
The real Speed of Sound in Seawater is fast... relatively. This album is the same in that it goes by too fast and you are already putting it on repeat again. :p jason hankins
Certainly a controversial direction for the band, but this album ultimately rests as my favorite from TTNG. The technical mastery of their previous albums is still present here along with some very thought provoking and philosophical lyrics. I may not always agree with the lyrical messaging, but this is an album which rewards careful listening. Syobnaf
Effervescent dream pop from Dianas, with delicate melodies and arrangements that swing from airy & minimal to dense & propulsive. Bandcamp New & Notable Dec 14, 2021
I like to pretend I have a really talented friend who recorded this album as a gift. That's what it feels like; a gift from a stupidly close friend. sherryking
