lyrics
And not even in the main drag of the sea would you keep me afloat,
You’re a blot on my landscape, a chance I’m not willing to take, and I think that you should go.
Give what you’ve got to give, to live who you’re going to live for.
And I can’t go through life, never taking sides, and I can’t find the lines, you’re crossing every time.
Sometimes I feel like without you I could move faster
I’m not saying I’ll break it off,
But being nice was not enough.
And I think that we should go our separate ways,
I think you should turn away.
Away.
Oooh.
Oooooooh.
And so i’ll think of the days on your skin, breaking in, taking taxis and giving in, take my breath and make it heavy oh.
I can’t go through life, never taking sides, and I can’t find the lines, you’re crossing every time.
Sometimes I feel like, without you I could move faster.
I’m not saying I’ll break it off,
But being nice was not enough.
And I think that we should go our separate ways,
I think you should turn away.

The real Speed of Sound in Seawater is fast... relatively. This album is the same in that it goes by too fast and you are already putting it on repeat again. :p jason hankins

Certainly a controversial direction for the band, but this album ultimately rests as my favorite from TTNG. The technical mastery of their previous albums is still present here along with some very thought provoking and philosophical lyrics. I may not always agree with the lyrical messaging, but this is an album which rewards careful listening. Syobnaf
A heavy blend of post-rock and shoegaze from Argentina's Ox en Mayo Alto rides big emotional crests and contemplative valleys. Bandcamp New & Notable Jul 27, 2021

I like to pretend I have a really talented friend who recorded this album as a gift. That's what it feels like; a gift from a stupidly close friend. sherryking
